Somehow, I kinda see what you're thinking in this one. Kind of displaying that under feathers, or fur, or whatever we came from, we were still human. People deny the relationship, because they want to think they're different, or, in the case of something like an angel, portrayed as a winged person, or something more like a pheonix rebirth mythos, that the subject is somehow better, more, than another. That the original cynicism was to lower or better yourself instead of seeing the equality of all things. Either that or I'm totally missing something.

Diogenes thought only by getting rid of our material possessions can be truly be free. I read into it that he thought we were covered up by society; like we felt the need to become less individual -people- than components of a greater whole. But, like, if you take away your social rank and title and all your possessions, you find out that you're just human under all of it...
